(1917-2006) Army Officer, awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions near Wurselen, Germany - Oct. 13, 1944. Capt. Burt, while in command of the 66th Armored Regiment's attack on a garrison protecting the town of Aachen, repeatedly advanced on foot through heavy enemy fire to better direct his tanks. Despite having been wounded in the face and neck and having had 3 command tanks shot from beneath him, Burt continued to command his troops in battle for the next 8 days. Because of his extreme heroism the battle was won and Aachen Gap closed.
