(1927- ) Hall of Fame Welterweight & Middleweight Boxing Champion, best remembered for his two grueling fights with Sugar Ray Robinson. Ring Magazine Boxer of the Year in 1957. After serving in the Marines Basilio became a professional boxer in 1948. Welterweight Boxing Champion 1955-56, 1956-57. In 1957 he won the Middleweight Championship from Sugar Ray Robinson and gave up the Welterweight title. In March of 1958 Robinson beat him for the title and after loosing several more Middleweight fights, including two to Gene Fulmer, he retired. His overall record was 56 Wins, 27 by knockout, and 16 losses, two by knockout. Signed Card
