MOVIE PHOTOPLAYS Almost as soon as movies became popular, book publishers began to tie-in books with films through the use of photoplays - books based on films or the original books on which films were based. These books often had dust jackets or covers picturing the film's stars or mentioning the film, and many contained scenes from the films. This following is a specially chosen collection of vintage "Photoplays." The cover art and photos have made Photoplays very collectible among both "film buffs" and "book collectors."
