About Elmer's Nostalgia

Elmer’s Nostalgia, Inc. – WHO WE ARE AND WHY DO BUSINESS WITH US.

207-324-2166 – elmers1@metrocast.netwww.elmers.net (webstore) and ebay for regular auctions

Co-Owners JON ALLAN and  NANCY PAGE

What began, in 1976, as a retail collectibles store, founded by Nancy Page in a quaint Maine seacoast town, has evolved into an international mail order business, specializing in AUTOGRAPHS. Jon Allan, Nancy’s husband, joined the business in 1981 and as an autograph collector since 1958 brought autographs as a regular part of the business. In 1984 we issued our first mail order catalogue and in 1987 began publishing catalogues on a monthly business.

Today, we have over 200,000 autographs and collectibles and have a reputation for both experience and integrity. In the autograph world we specialize in Entertainment of all genres (television, film, music, theatre, etc. from the 19th Century onwards), Politics, History and Military, Literary, Pop Culture Celebrities, Sports, Space, Art and eclectic autographs offered by few dealers.

Our memorabilia includes a large selection of collectible books and magazines, along with records, posters, photos, political ephemera and the like.

We belong to the major collector organizations including the UACC (Universal Autograph Collector Club - Dealer #32, Lifetime Member and member of the Hall of Fame). In 1998 Jon and Elmers became the second individual/business to be chosen for the UACC’s George and Helen Sanders Autograph Dealer of the Year Award. Other organization memberships include The Manuscript Society, IADA-CC (International Autograph Dealer Alliance and Collector Club), and APIC (American Political Items Collectors).

Jon was a regular columnist for Autograph Magazine until health issues forced him to cut down on his outside projects. Elmers is also a socially conscious business and for the last 15+ years has run a monthly sale to benefit the York County Shelters, Inc. We are given autographs to sell by our customers, occasionally ask celebrities to contribute but we most often just pull something from out own stock. All proceeds go to the Shelter, our way of putting back into the community.

After 26 years of simply issuing catalogues, done in the style of the old fashioned autograph and book businesses - No glamour, no photos, just descriptions and categories of autographs we are now expanding to the Internet. We are widely known for our extensive biographical information on each individual and for our complete description of each item offered. If you’re tired of ordering a signature and finding it smudged, torn, pasted down or the like, you won’t find it here. We don’t want you to be unhappy so we tell you exactly what you are getting.

In 2010 we have begun the addition, under the direction of our web partner Pete Richard, of regular auctions on eBay, a small eBay store of special items and a major web store on Homestead (elmers.net). This is a new experience for us and we have just begun to build and add items. This store will be added to on a regular basis and will eventually offer thousands of autographs and collectible items you will be able to see and easily order. Having never done business in this fashion it is a “work in progress.” We are pleased to have found a partner in Pete and I think you will like this new addition.
